Tim Pettit, Chair

Tim is a 28-year member of the RCMP currently holding the rank of Staff Sergeant. Tim has worked municipal, provincial, and federal policing in four different divisions. His work has included General Duties, General Investigations, Serious Crimes, Source Development, Criminal Intelligence, Staffing, Staff Relations, and Federal Serious and Organized Crime, which has allowed him to experience many unique jobs the RCMP offers.

Throughout his service Tim has volunteered within the communities he serves, by coaching volleyball, organizing fundraisers to support local youth and gathering food donations for the local food bank. In addition Tim’s family sponsored children through World Vision for over 20 years.

Most recently Tim served on the Board of Directors for the Slain Peace Officer Fund for “O” Division from 2014-2020. This group of dedicated Board members approved Slain Peace Officer Fund financial assistance to troopmates of members killed in the line of duty so they could attend their colleague’s funeral, donated money to the Mayerthorpe Fallen Four memorial amongst a host of other initiatives.

In 2018 Tim, along with a small group of volunteers, organized and hosted the 2018 “O” Division Annual RCMP Hockey Tournament in Windsor, Ontario. This two-day event raised over $16,000, with proceeds going to several charities including, Kidsport Canada, Windsor Minor Football, Police Torch Run and the Slain Peace Officer Fund of Ontario.  This was the largest total raised for this event in its 42-year history. This could not have been done without the generosity of the 170 police officers who participated.
