NATIONAL POLICE FEDERATION BENEVOLENT FOUNDATION
Message from NPFBF Chair, Kevin Halwa
In June of 2022, I was honoured to be appointed as the Chair of the National Police Federation Benevolent Foundation. Having been with the RCMP for over 26 years in a variety of positions, I have been exposed to both the highs and lows of policing across Canada, including the tragic loss of our Members in the line of duty. Policing is a dangerous career, and there are several dates in the calendar year that I am unable to forget, as they are reminders of the ultimate sacrifice our brothers and sisters have made in service to their communities across the country. Although I have lost friends and troopmates, their memory stays with me always. When most others run from danger, our Members run towards it and often put themselves in harm’s way to help others.
I have lived and proudly served my entire career in Alberta. As a Board Director of the National Police Federation, I have had the privilege to meet Members from across our great country. The RCMP is made up of dedicated, professional, and compassionate people who frequently deal with traumatic events that negatively impact them and their families.
My fellow Directors of the National Police Federation Benevolent Foundation share my primary goal and mission - to help support NPF Members and their families in the short or long-term, both directly and indirectly.
